The Taj restaurant – named in tribute to the family’s beloved Taj Mahal, the restaurant opened by their grandfather and later run by their father, before the current generation took over – represents the crowning glory in the rich heritage of this family who are as Scottish as they are Indian.
With two menus serving up the very finest Indian and Scottish dishes, delving deeply into the melded heritage of the Birk family who have poured their heart and soul into The Malletsheugh, there truly is something for every palate here.
